Psychology is a semester class for juniors or seniors and is one of the elective Social Studies classes offered at JCC. The textbook for this class is Understanding Psychology. We will study psychological concepts, history, and research methods. Students will complete a journal reviews, a group research project, and an individual research project. There will be daily assignments and tests required with each chapter.

Include: Which test you choose to take, what the test tried to measure, how did the test attempt to measure it, what were your results according to the test (print them) and do you believe the test findings are accurate, why or why not. Complete more than one kind of test and paper for extra credit.

The site, Discovering Psychology, has many of the videos that we watch in class on line. When you miss a video in class, ask which video you need to watch and what the assignment was. You can then watch the video on any computer with internet access and Microsoft Internet Media Player. You will need to register the first time you use the site but it is free.

Find out what the different traits say about your personality type. Click on (the drop-down menu in the upper right corner) Famous types to find out which famous people share your traits. Write a short report: include your personality type and a description that includes an explanation of each trait that applies to you. What implications does this information have for your career or personal plans? If you don't know the famous people with your type, find a biography on the internet and read a little about them. Are they similar to you?
